Term 3 Reflection

Term 3 Reflection

This term was so fun, we did so much stuff, let's name some, kapa haka, debates, bowls, trips, lunchtime clubs, mandarine, tyers, bike track, calendar art, academic and tech famine. But these were my favourite ones below.

Calendar art
Calendar art was so much fun we had to get our books and start off by doing still-life picture like oranges, lemons and cups then experiment with paint and different drawing techniques. Then we had to practise our proper calendar art onto this special paper, it was like a west coast rainy background with a black house with windows and in the windows was stuff we like rugby league boots, I reckon I could have done them better but it was so hard to do with a big paintbrush.

Academic
This term we started doing a reading thing called reciprocal reading it's where we are in our reading groups and we have a card or two which tells us what our roles are. The rolls are the Clarifier, Questioner, Leader, Summarizer, and Reader. With these rolls we read the book and use them to understand it then the next book we switch roles I still reckon we didn't need to do it every day though maybe every two or three. For maths this term it looked really hard but when ms’s Gibson explained it, it was easy we learned stuff like BEDMAS.

Bowls
At the start of the term, we got introduced to bowls. Bowls is a thing we do every Tuesday for one block. For bowls, we have 2 teams on a green mat that is approximately 10 metres long and 4 metres wide. Each team has 8 bowls and one team that wins the coin toss gets the jack to throw up the mat then the two teams rolls there bowls up and try to get the closest to the jack. It was so fun but I got kicked out.

Film festival
For the film festival, we had to make a 2-minute movie about whatever we want. For ours, we did a movie about saving the blue penguins. My group was me, Archie and Rhys. we worked really well together as a group and got our work in and it turned out really well.

XBOX VS PLAYSTATION

XBOX VS PLAYSTATION

To start off there is a battle going on between which is better XBOX or PLAYSTATION
so I'm here today to show you why and how XBOX is better.

Firstly XBOX controllers are harder so when you rage PLAYSTATION controllers
are like two sticks and easy to break. On XBOX you can youse Skype and Discord and
PLAYSTATION there's none. On XBOX there is also an XBOX 8 coming out which looks
like an XBOX controller that has a screen in the middle of it like a Nintendo switch so it
is a portable XBOX. On some XBOXS there is dual HDMI and on all PLAYSTATION
there's none so it’s super helpful.

Secondly on XBOX 360 you don't have to download your games when you get them and
on all PLAYSTATIONS you do. For all XBOXS it doesn't ask for your name every year like
Playstation and Another good reason is that on XBOX you can get EA access for free and
on PLAYSTATION it is $5 for a monthly subscription, The best thing about XBOX is that
you can put XBOX 360 games on the XBOX One for free, if you want to do that with
PLAYSTATION it’s $20 a month “ What a rip off ”

Lastly XBOX has cloud storage so when you change accounts use a different XBOX
or break your XBOX it will save your games and everything for free, such as when on
PLAYSTATION you have to buy it and If you don't you lose everything and you have to do
everything and buy everything again so it's just making PLAYSTATION more money. The
good thing for Nintendo players is that you can plug the Nintendo Switch into the XBOX
so you can play on a bigger screen and make the ultimate console. XBOX has also got a
game pass which will let you get free games, free pre-released trials, and free Netflix
for a monthly subscription fee of NZ$10.95 but the first few months is $1.00.

In Conclusion,  PLAYSTATION has some advantages but the power on XBOX ONE X
obliterates the PS4 PRO, So XBOX wins!!!

Year 6 & 7 Wellington Camp

Wellington Camp

This year for camp year six and sevens got to go to Wellington. At Wellington, The most memorable moments Was The Adrenaline Forest and H2O extreme. At Adrenalin Forest, We had levels 1,2,3a,3b,3c,4,5 & 6 it was funny because there was a hight bar we all got over except Brayden Jacob Miro and Cater. The fun but challenging bit was the poles that were hanging like 5 stories up and kept swinging side to side. It was fun and challenging at the same time we only got up to level 4 because we ran out of time. Same with the H2O extreme there was a wave pool it was amazing it was connected to a lazy river that had three hydro slides around it. The camp was amazing we went to Te Papa, the Beehive, rock climbing and more. in conclusion, the camp was the good well the food wasn't the best but mostly rice and buttered chicken which is good

Camping Is Better Than Staying At A Hotel

Camping Is Better Than Staying At A Hotel

Camping and staying in a hotel, both places you can stay in But I'm going to convince you camping is better than staying at a hotel for these following reasons.

Argument 1: Firstly Camping is better than staying in a Hotel because of The price difference $100 to $0/30, It is way more fun because you can jump off cliffs and big boulders into water and you have to hunt for your own food and boil it on a campfire with your cup/pot which makes it more challenging. It has more opportunities to do stuff and can be more exercise for the stuff you have to do.

Argument 2: when you are camping you can be as loud as you want, besides when you are at a hotel you have to be quiet or you could be kicked out. The best thing about camping is there are no rules and you can take your pets, besides you could use a waterfall/lake as a shower.

Argument 3: I fell that hotels are cool and fun but camping is way better because you get to learn how to use the environment to go fishing, hunting, exploring and first aid.

In Conclusion, Camping is better and the way to go but staying in a hotel
is cool too.
